Letter from SGA Vice President Jackson Baird
On behalf of the University of Kentucky Interfraternity Council, welcome to the University of Kentucky!
Getting involved is one of the most important things you can do when you are in college. Involvement in an organization, allows you to have a deeper sense of belonging which is needed now more than ever. We believe that joining a fraternity is one of the best ways to get involved here at UK. Taking this step can lead to lifelong friendships, rewarding service opportunities, social interactions, career development, and priceless leadership skills, the list goes on and on. We encourage you to sign up for IFC Recruitment because joining a fraternity provides you with a support system and family that will not only have your back, but hold you accountable and push you towards success during your time as an undergrad here at UK and beyond.
It is our goal for every eligible student at the University of Kentucky to find an organization that helps them grow and develop, become a leader and ultimately become a better person overall. Involvement in a fraternal organization offers social, educational and development benefits. The University of Kentucky Interfraternity Council truly believes that for young men, joining a fraternity provides that experience.

My Best Advice
Jackson Baird
2025 Vice President of Student Government
“Visit as many chapters as you can during recruitment. Not only will you meet amazing people you’ll be with on campus throughout your four years, but you might also find a chapter that fits you best where you least expect it, and thats the best part about t rush.
The guys I met during rush are still around me to this day, and for that I’m forever grateful to my fraternity and the University for putting me in such a position.

Why Join an IFC Fraternity?
Belonging & Brotherhood
“In the Interfraternity Council, there is a place for everyone. Our chapters do a very good job of making sure everyone who joins the IFC Brotherhood finds their place. In the IFC, everyone belongs!”
Mark Chocola, Beta Theta Pi
“Coming into college, I never intended to join a fraternity, but after seeing how it can provide a second community away from home, my perspective completely changed. BYX has provided me with a family in which I feel like I can be myself around others. I have been able to develop my faith through our brotherhood and being able to be vulnerable and open around our guys.”
Mason Kohlsmith, Beta Upsilon Chi
Commitment & Success
“Joining a fraternity has pushed me to step outside my comfort zone. It has encouraged me to be more involved both on and off campus. I learned that being a brother in a fraternity is not solely about the parties but about creating memorable experiences with those around you. Through these experiences, I have forged valuable connections and memories. Arriving at college, I felt nervous about finding my place. I am grateful I discovered it within my fraternity.”
RJ Temple, Phi Kappa Tau
“Joining a fraternity allows you to change every challenge into a steppingstone. With the support of an entire community of brothers, you gain the encouragement and accountability needed to overcome any obstacle. Empowering you to become the best version of yourself.” Josh Defevers, Chi Psi
Scholarship & Academics
“Joining a fraternity has allowed me to accelerate my academics and involvement in my time at UK. Having fraternity brothers I can count on to support me and push me to accomplish my goals is invaluable to my success in the future. I am so grateful for my fraternity and IFC for helping me achieve my goals in college throughout this year and giving me opportunities to grow as a scholar and a person.” Cade Brown, Triangle
“Being involved in a fraternity has motivated me to perform at my highest capability in the classroom. This is thanks to the amazing resources made available and endless support within the organization. I am honored to be part of a fraternity.”
